Alexandra Tirsu


Alexandra Tirsu has cancelled participation in JJV 2021.

Violinist Alexandra Tirsu is gaining recognition as one of the leading musicians of her generation. A laureate of Osaka and Seoul International Music Competitions, her performances have garnered critical acclaim around the world in publications such as Classical Music Magazine,etc.

Recent highlights include performances in venues such as the Vienna Konzerthaus, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Bucharest Athaneum and Beijing Concert Hall, at festivals such as Verbier Festival, Crans Montana Classics, Sion Music Festival. She has collaborated with artists such as Michael Guttman, Jing Zhao, Dmitri Jurowsky, Ivry Gitlis, Uto Ughi, Semyon Bychkov, Igor Kuschnir. An advocate of bringing violin music to wider audiences, she regularly collaborates with the celebrated music-comedy duo Igudesman & Joo. Alexandra Tirsu enjoys chamber music and playing in the orchestra, she is also one of the founders of the Moldavian National Youth Orchestra.

Alexandra completed her undergraduate in Vienna under the tutelage of Pavel Vernikov. She is currently pursuing her graduate studies in Sion under the tutelage of Janine Jansen. She performs on the "ex Willi Boskovsky" Francesco Goffriller violin (ca.1730) kindly on loan from the Goh Family Collection of Singapore.
