Daniel Dastoor

Daniel Dastoor studies with Paul Kantor and Barry Shiffman at the Glenn Gould School, pursuing an Artist Diploma. Studying with Bill van der Sloot in Calgary, he completed undergraduate studies at the Mount Royal Conservatory while finishing Music and Computer Science degrees at the University of Calgary.
A frequent participant in competitions, Daniel Dastoor was winner of the Calgary Philharmonic’s Marley Rynd Scholarship, is a prizewinner of the Canadian Music and Alberta Festival competitions, and has performed as soloist with the Lethbridge Symphony and twice as soloist with the Calgary Philharmonic. An active artist, Daniel Dastoor competed at the 45th Fischoff Competition, and has participated in the NAC’s Young Artist Program, the Kneisel Hall, Trondheim International Chamber, Banff Centre, Festival del Lago, and Orford festivals, and the Festival de Febrero and Concerts@100 series. His avid interests lie in becoming a refined artist, both as a soloist, and as a passionate chamber musician.
