Hawijch Elders is an upcoming Dutch violinist. Recently, she received the First Prize at the Leonid Kogan International Competition 2021. Other accomplishments include the Second Prize at the 2021 Odesa International Violin Competiton, prizes at the 37th Premio Rodolfo Lipizer Competition, Dutch National Violin Competition, 3rd Oleh Krysa Competition. She is a laureate of the Dutch Classical Talent season 2021/2022 and was awarded the Kersjes Vioolbeurs 2019 at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam.
Hawijch Elders studies with Ilya Grubert at the Conservatory of Amsterdam since 2016. She participated in masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis, Shlomo Mintz, Pierre Amoyal and performed as soloist with a. o. Real Filharmonía de Galicia, Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra.
Hawijch Elders plays a violin by Gennaro Gagliano and a bow by Jean Pierre Marie Persoit, on loan from the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation. The violin is part of the collection Willem G. Vogelaar.
