Claire Bourg

Claire Bourg has been praised for being in “total command of music and instrument with an excellent sense of style and character” (Maestro Lawrence Rapchak).

She has appeared as a soloist performing in such venues as Chicago’s Orchestra Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston. She recently was named the second prize winner of the 2020 Barbash Bach Competition and awarded the 2021 Luminarts Fellowship. A passionate chamber musician, Claire Bourg has attended festivals such as Marlboro, Yellow Barn, Ravinia, and IMS Prussia Cove. She performs regularly with the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, Music for Food and Curtis on Tour.

Claire Bourg enjoys working with contemporary composers, having worked with Bright Sheng and Augusta Read Thomas. She currently serves as the concertmaster of Symphony in C in Philadelphia. Claire Bourg has studied with Miriam Fried, Pamela Frank, and Arnold Steinhardt. She currently holds a Kovner Fellowship at the Juilliard School where she studies with Joseph Lin.
