Seiji Okamoto has cancelled participation in JJV 2021.
A Berlin-based Japanese violinist Seiji Okamoto was born in 1994. He won notable international prizes such as 1st prize at 19th International J. S. Bach Competition in Leipzig (2014), 2nd prize at 15th International Wieniawski Violin Competition (2016) and Laureate of the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition (2019).
He mainly has studied in Japan until he graduated Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2017, he moved to Germany for further studies and activities. After finishing his master’s degree at Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, he is currently studying at Kronberg Academy with Prof. Antje Weithaas.
As a soloist, he has performed with great orchestras in Germany, Poland, Belgium, Russia and Japan.
In addition to this, he actively works on chamber music, his long-sighted recital series with tours, invited in famous music festivals, as well as leading the ensemble orchestra in Japan.
Seiji Okamoto is currently using the instrument on generous loan from Munetsugu Collection.
