Thomas Hoppe

Thomas Hoppe is widely recognized as one of the finest piano partners of his generation. Born in 1971, the German pianist went to the USA as a student of Lee Luvisi and later completed his studies at the Juilliard School in New York City. As a member of the ATOS Trio, he performs worldwide and has won many prizes and awards.

For what has been almost two decades, Hoppe continues his association as piano partner for international competitions, such as the Concours Reine Elisabeth in Brussels, the Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hannover, the Indianapolis Violin Competition or the Singapore Violin Competition.

The pianist teaches master classes in piano accompaniment and chamber music throughout Europe, Australia, China, South America and the USA. Since April 2018 he is professor of piano chamber music at the Folkwang University in Essen. Thomas Hoppe lives in Berlin with his family and a small dog.

Boris Kusnezow

Boris Kusnezow is one of the most sought-after collaborative pianists of his generation. His performances have taken him to concert venues such as Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall London, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Berliner Philharmonie.

Born in Moscow, Boris Kusnezow has lived in Germany since the age of eight and completed his musical studies with Prof. Bernd Goetzke in Hannover. This was followed by winning the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb, a fellowship from the Borletti-Buitoni Trust and scholarships from the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.

In addition to his performing activities, he is founder of the chamber music academy „Chamber Lab“, artistic director of an international music masterclass in Schloss Bückeburg (IMAS) and of the Schaumburger Schlosskonzerte. In 2020 he was appointed professor for piano chamber music at the Leipzig University of Music.

Paul Rivinius

Paul Rivinius, born in 1970, received his first piano lessons at the age of five. After graduating from high school, he studied horn with Marie-Luise Neunecker and piano with Raymund Havenith at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt. In 1994 he was accepted into Gerhard Oppitz’s master class at the Musikhochschule in Munich.

As a chamber musician, he won several prizes with the Clemente Trio, for example at the renowned ARD Music Competition in Munich in 1998 and subsequently performed as the “Rising Star” ensemble in the world’s ten most important concert halls. Paul Rivinius also plays in the Rivinius Piano Quartet together with his three brothers and has been the pianist of the Mozart Piano Quartet since 2004.

In addition to his many years in these ensembles, Paul Rivinius has played with numerous renowned artists and has been a regular guest at international festivals. Numerous radio and CD productions document his artistic work. Paul Rivinius taught for many years at the UdK and most recently as Professor of piano chamber music at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin. He now lives in Munich.
