The Competition across the State

The "The Competition across the State" concert series brings the Joseph Joachim Violin Competition to the entire state. On one evening during the competition, selected participants will be travelling to smaller towns and special concert venues. They bring wonderful music and excellent piano accompaniment with them. A win-win situation for both the visitors and the musicians, who gain stage experience, make contacts and get to know Lower Saxony.

Fascination Porcelain

The Porzellanmanufaktur FÜRSTENBERG is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Weser Uplands. The castle complex – a monument of Weser Renaissance– is home to a museum with its Visitors’ Workshop, the Manufactory Store and the Bistro CARL. The observation deck, 80 m above the river Weser, offers a spectacular panoramic view of the Weser valley. The newly designed castle courtyard with open access provides interesting information about the history of the castle and the manufactory thanks to “historical windows”.

Since March 2017, the completely redesigned MUSEUM SCHLOSS FÜRSTENBERG has opened its doors to visitors. With the slogan “Experience, Understand, Create”, the fascinating transformation in dining culture from 1747 to the present day can be discovered in a unique way. With around 20,000 objects, the museum has the most extensive collection of FÜRSTENBERG porcelain in the world.
Außenansicht des Klosters St. Marienberg in Helmstedt
The Helmstedt Association for Culture has been organizing the so-called Juleum Concerts in the Auditorium Maximum of the former Helmstedt University for over 50 years. In the 2024/2025 season, however, the opening concert of this series will take place on September 26, 2024 in collaboration with the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in the monastery church of St. Marienberg in Helmstedt. The Romanesque church building, which dates back to the 12th/13th century and was extensively restored in the mid-19th century and repainted and redesigned to reflect the historical taste of the time, provides an excellent backdrop for this special concert and will showcase the violin and its piano accompaniment to their best advantage.
Außenansicht des Springhornhofs, eine historische Hofanlage im Heideort Neuenkirchen
In the former stables of a historic farm complex in Neuenkirchen in the Lüneburg Heath, the Springhornhof art association presents changing exhibitions and projects by international contemporary artists who deal with nature, landscape and life in the countryside in a variety of ways.

This is also the starting point of a circular route to more than forty sculptures and installations by Timm Ulrichs, Christiane Möbus, Tony Cragg, Elmgreen & Dragset, Mark Dion and many others, which have been erected in the woods, along streams and on heathland around the village since the 1970s. With its successful integration of contemporary art into nature and the everyday life of rural areas, Springhornhof is one of the most important institutions for landscape art in Europe.
Außenansicht des Ruller Hauses in Wallenhorst
The Ruller Haus is a socio-cultural center in the pilgrimage town of Rulle, which belongs to the municipality of Wallenhorst in the Osnabrück catchment area. As the owner of a historic building with around 700 years of history, the association organizes a year-round cultural programme with around 60 events (exhibitions, classical and folk concerts, readings, youth cultural programmes, film and theater performances) with around 20 volunteers and three freelancers. The association has around 150 members and reaches an audience beyond the local borders.

The concert series of the house has several focal points: Chamber music, which fits in very well here due to the intimacy of the hall (about 85 seats), the excellent acoustics and not least because of an excellent Steinway grand piano, a podium for young talented musicians* in the "Auftakte" series and performance opportunities for local formations. Even though Rulle is a very small town, two ARD prizewinners have already performed here and a precious Stradivarius has even been heard here.
Ein Kammerkonzert im prunkvoll verzierten Barocksaal von Schloss Gödens
Since 2003, "Klassik am Meer e.V." has been presenting a high-class cultural program in Wilhelmshaven and Friesland and was founded on the initiative of musicians from the Jade city who are themselves active in international concert life. The promotion and cultivation of classical music is impressively expressed in an annual concert series that stands for variety, sophistication and diversity. The aim is to bring classical music and its various forms of performance to a wide audience as an exciting cultural form. Promoting encounters between different people is part of the concept. Classical music is both timelessly valid and contemporary, tolerant and cosmopolitan. Our international line-ups and the promotion of young musicians result in sustainable cultural projects for our region.
